Deloitte, a leading accounting and consulting firm, has announced plans to launch its Middle East Islamic Finance Group in Bahrain besides the unveiling of its new Islamic Finance portal.
The launch ceremony, to be held on April 18 at the Ritz-Carlton, Manama, will see the presence of several high-profile speakers including Khalid Hamad, executive director, Banking Supervision, Central Bank of Bahrain, and Deloitte global and regional leadership.
Omar Fahoum, CEO of Deloitte in the Middle East, Joe El Fadl, partner in charge for the Financial Services Industry (FSI), Deloitte in the Middle East and Daud Vicary Abdullah, Deloitte Global Islamic Finance Leader will address the gathering.
The Middle East Islamic Finance Group represents a significant investment by Deloitte, with the appointment of dedicated Islamic Finance specialists from across audit, consulting and financial advisory services, said a senior official.
The launch of the group and the new portal form an integral part of a Deloitte’s wider global Islamic finance group initiative and further demonstrates the firm’s strong commitment to serving the Islamic Finance Industry and market participants in the region.
'The team has the added dimension of the newly formed Islamic Finance Knowledge Centre based in Bahrain, designed to provide thought leadership and research. Together the Group will represent an unrivalled depth and breadth of expertise,' he added.
Deloitte’s new Islamic Finance portal aims to become an invaluable resource for all participants in the Islamic Finance industry.
'Users will gain insights from prominent figures from the industry, have access to Deloitte thought leadership publications and be able to share their views on some of the most pressing issues and challenges facing the industry, in addition to other features,' the official said.
