![]() Fitch Ratings announced today that it has updated the Takaful Rating Methodology, a sub-sector criteria report within its Insurance group. This updated criteria report replaces prior criteria titled "Takaful Rating Methodology" dated October 2007. No substantive changes have been made from the prior version. Therefore, use of this updated criteria report is not expected to directly result in rating changes. This criteria report falls under Fitch's global master criteria report for the insurance industry titled 'Insurance Rating Methodology' which was published in August 2010. The global master criteria define the broad principles used by Fitch in rating all insurance companies globally. The sub-sector criteria reports provide additional details as to how the master criteria is applied to specific insurance sectors, and/or specific aspects of the master criteria, such as group ratings and notching.
